Dogs are one of my favourite subjects to photograph. Each dog is very much it's own individual with their own unique personality, which I always do my best to capture when I'm taking their portrait. Over the years I've collected some pretty cool shots of different facial expressions and decided to put together a small black & white series of images to show off some of these beautiful faces.
Although I love to shoot on location, I also love working in a studio, so shooting studio pet portraits, for me, is just an amazing way to spend my day. I get to combine my love for dogs, my love for photography and my love for studios, all into one incredible ball of awesome...and call it my job! You never really know what is going to happen from shoot to shoot. Some dogs tare around like mad things, moving as fast as their legs will take them, some are more cautious and slowly sniff their way around the space and others walk in and sit down like they've been in a studio their whole lives.
One thing remains constant though - the fun and laughter they bring when they are in front of the lens and the sense of satisfaction when you get a great shot. Wherever you are in the world, if you love your dog and you haven't already done this, it's well worth giving it a go. It's a really cool way to hang out and have some fun with them.
