Maddie...the #SuperDog?

So I did a #SuperDogSession.....with a cat! And what a cool cat she is! Maddie popped in to my studio at #PhotoGraft in Merrivale for her very own studio pet portrait session and to have some fun. She arrived, with her mom Nicole, wearing a harness and walking on a lead. What a thing to see.

- Nicole tells us the story of how they met

"A 5 week old kitten was found outside a school in Vryheid and a secretary took it in. My mom was a teacher at the school and late that afternoon, she got a phonecall asking if she was home. The secretary arrived and asked her if she could look after the kitten. My mom, being a total softie, couldn't say no. But they have 2 big dogs that have run of the house and the kitten had to be kept separate. My mom told me about this kitten that she would have to take to the SPCA and I told her to wait a bit. So I phoned my landlady and asked if I could have a cat. To my surprise, she said yes. So on 1 May 2017, I drove up to Vryheid and back with a tiny kitten that I bonded with almost instantly. And the rest is history."

"Fetching her was rather unplanned, so we didn't have a cat box. While driving back from Vryheid with her, we stopped in Ladysmith for a loo break. I got into the car and felt under the seat and she was there. The person driving with me got in and we drove off. I put my hand under the seat and there was no cat! 10km outside of town, we stopped and searched the car... No sign. No meows. Nothing. So we drove back in a panic and searched the place we stopped and asked people if they had seen her. Eventually, in tears, I sat next to the car, absolutely heartbroken. It was then that I tried one last thing. I switched on the torch on my phone and shone it under the back seat I had sat next to and there I saw the biggest, most innocent-looking eyes blinking back at me from the cavity under the back seat. I have no idea how she got there, and I think I got a few grey hairs from the panic, but I'm very glad she was safe! Her nickname is Maddie Moo or just Moo. I've tried to train her to walk on a leash. Which is semi-successful until dogs start barking. If I go for a walk, she follows me out the gate and along the road. If I run around the garden, she chases me all the way."

And her playfulness definitely shone through!. She kept me amused (and in awe) the whole time she was here.
It was loads of fun having her round for a visit. I loved every minute of it.
